In 2012 we opened doors in the heart of the Old City in Montevideo, a few steps away from the charming Plaza Zabala (Zabala square). The quality of our offering, with absolute attention to detail, and the spirit and personality of the place, have firmly established us as a benchmark in local gastronomy. Since 2013 we have expanded our busiess by adding the adjacent building, creating a new space which we call "La Panadería" (The Bakery).
The project, which was carried out by design studio "La Mar en Coche", has its brushwork reflected in the beautiful European restaurants. The different materials, shapes, colors, and textures found inside are combined with personality, showing the imprint of the Restaurant.
We make signature dishes, with influences from Italian and Spanish cuisine. Our offering is renewed seasonally based on a study of the products available in the market. We use selected, high-quality, local ingredients. They are the basis of our dishes, where we seek to emphasize the purity and simplicity of each one of the ingredients, without ornaments.
In addition to the fixed menu, each day we offer a soup, an entree, and a dessert of the day. Our wine list –mostly Uruguayan wineries– is comprised of items specially selected by Lucia, designed to combine in the best way possible with the various dishes served.
